GUSTAVO LUZ SOUSA
I'm a Freelance Executive Creative Director, with 20 years of experience with an art, design, and marketing background. I can lead big businesses and creative teams, but I also really enjoy being hands-on when it's needed.

I've led Global Creative Accounts (like Stella Artois), Global Creative Teams, and Global New Business Pitches in New York, London, Buenos Aires, and São Paulo (as a Global ECD of Mother London). More recently, I've been working as a freelance creative director and consultant inside and outside clients, with vast experience in new business development, new product launches, and helping big companies or startups to create new brands. I've worked with some of the big companies in tech, such as Oculus, Meta, eBay, and Airbnb, and big consumer goods companies such as Budweiser, Corona, and Upfield.

My work in advertising has collected awards at Cannes Lions, D&AD, One Show, FWA, Edinburgh Film Festival, and Tribeca Film Festival.

I'm also a painter, and my work as an artist has been featured by The Washington Post, NPR, FastCompany, Vanity Fair, The Guardian, The New York Times, Vice, and Fubiz.

I'm also a Co-Founder of F!VE DRINKS CO™, a canned cocktail company distributed in the USA and Brazil, with some positive reviews written by Vogue, Time Out, and The New York Times.

Since 2015, besides dedicating time to my art practice, I've been collaborating with advertising agencies and clients as an independent Creative Director and Art Director from my studio in downtown NYC on projects that focus on advertising, branding, design, film production, and creative strategy.

I think there's very little difference between painting and coming up with a creative idea for a brand. My approach is to try to work on anything where I can learn more about humans while meeting new humans.
