Working in collaboration with eBay's global marketing team based in San Francisco, the goal of this pilot project was to introduce eBay to a younger audience through TikTok and Instagram. By highlighting themes such as sustainability, nostalgia, and entrepreneurship, we aimed to showcase how unique and inclusive eBay can be. We told stories in collaboration with users who were doing interesting things at eBay. First we did an in-depth research to find stories that unknown even to eBay themselves, then we found a way to express them in a way that felt “eBay”. Everything in this idea was sourced from ebay. From the stories themselves, going through hundreds of users and shop owners, to the equipment we used. We bought dozens of second-hand and vintage DV, super 8, digital and 35mm cameras, many rolls for film, audio recorders to shoot the mini documentaries with. After finishing the films, all equipment was later re-sold at eBay. Here are 3 of those mini docs:
